Santa & Cole

Santa & Cole was founded in 1985 by Nina Masó, Javier Nieto Santa, and Gabriel Ordeig Cole, during that tumultuous decade in Spain where everything seemed possible after the dictatorship. The beginnings, creating unique lamps for some of the legendary bars of the Barcelona nightlife, also led to illuminating the homes of those frequenting such establishments. In contrast to the trend of the time, which favored halogen lamps with a cold touch and bluish light, Santa & Cole advocated for natural materials such as wood, sewn cardboard, or ribbons, either by reissuing existing designs or by developing new ones, as was the case with the Básica lamp. From technical coldness to human warmth.
